Al-Bireh – the Central Elections Commission (CEC) continues implementing its voter awareness and education program as part of its preparations to conduct the 2026 Local Elections. Since the launching of the awareness campaign, beginning of current year, the CEC conducted, in collaboration with its partners from official institutions, CSOs, village and municipal councils, and universities, more than 60 awareness workshops in the field, with the participation of approximately 2500 citizens (men and women) in the different governorates.

The Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Dr. Rami Hamdallah received today, Monday, H.E. Minister of Local Government; Dr. Sami Hijjawi at CEC’s headquarters in Al-Bireh to discuss the ongoing preparations for the upcoming local elections scheduled for April 25, 2026.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) launched today, Wednesday, its voter awareness and education campaign dedicated to the registration stage, the first stage of the electoral process, in accordance with the announced legal periods for the 2026 Local Elections, which concludes on January 24, 2026.
