The Central Elections Commission (CEC) launched today, Wednesday, its voter awareness and education campaign dedicated to the registration stage, the first stage of the electoral process, in accordance with the announced legal periods for the 2026 Local Elections, which concludes on January 24, 2026.
In its press release, the CEC indicated that the campaign is founded on the diversification of awareness channels to guarantee its outreach to the citizens in all West Bank (WB) governorates, especially the youth. To that end, the CEC will intensify its activity on its’ official social media platforms, while activating, in parallel, 11 sub-accounts, each covering one of the District Electoral Offices, in a way that guarantees tailored messages for each district.
Moreover, the CEC will capitalize on the strategic partnership it has built over the years with the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), to organize a series of workshops and public meetings, aimed at introducing the parameters of the new elections law meanwhile explaining the registration procedures, being a key condition for participating in the elections by candidacy or voting. Additionally field teams will target Palestinian universities to encourage students to register.
Furthermore, the campaign will also be comprised of displaying awareness messages using billboards, and broadcasting those awareness messages using local media outlets, Radio and TV stations, in a way that guarantees the desired outreach to all segments of the society, encouraging their participation in the electoral process.
The CEC invites all unregistered citizens to make use of the current registration period, clarifying that registration is available to all eligible citizens who has never been registered before through its official website (elections.ps) as well as citizens who desire to transfer their registration (inside the same district or outside) during the period January 20-24, 2026. Transferring registration is available at the registration centers to be opened in all local authorities in addition to the District Electoral Offices.
