Monday, March 2, 2026 - The Central Elections Commission (CEC) officially concluded receiving nomination applications for the 2026 Local Elections at 2:00 PM toda, as previously announced.

Due to the current war and the resulting closure of checkpoints and gates witnessed by the Palestinian governorates affecting movement and access to its offices, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) announces extending the nomination period for an additional 24 hours. Therefore, the deadline for submitting applications is 2:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2026, following the same mechanism, by showing up in person either to the CEC offices, or by sending nomination applications via the announced WhatsApp numbers (attached) in all governorates of the West Bank and Dier al-Balah.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced that due to the current war and in light of the closure of checkpoints and gates that the Palestinian governorates are witnessing and its impact on movement making it difficult to reach the CEC offices, it was decided to adopt exceptional procedures. This will ensure the continuity of the nomination process for the 2026 Local Elections and to remain on schedule.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced, by the end of the third day of the nomination stage of the 2026 Local Elections, the number of nomination applications received until the end of working day on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, as part of its daily follow up of the progress of the ongoing electoral process.
