Monday, March 2, 2026 - The Central Elections Commission (CEC) officially concluded receiving nomination applications for the 2026 Local Elections at 2:00 PM toda, as previously announced.
The CEC clarified closing off its electoral district offices where nomination applications were being received across the West Bank governorates and the City of Deir al-Balah. However, it continued to receive nomination applications from candidates who arrived before the 2:00 PM deadline.
The CEC emphasized that it will notify all electoral lists and candidates whose applications require completion or correction, tomorrow, Tuesday. Correcting applications shall remain open until upcoming Friday, 2:00 PM. The CEC added that electoral lists and candidates who submitted their applications via WhatsApp must complete and submit their papers to the CEC the latest by Friday.
During the upcoming days, the CEC will announce the number of electoral lists, candidates and local authorities where the elections will take place as per the results of the nomination period.
The CEC further added that it will publish the preliminary list of candidates next Saturday, March 7, 2026 on its website, at local authority premises and electoral district offices, allowing citizens the opportunity to review and challenge nominations.
