Due to the current war and the resulting closure of checkpoints and gates witnessed by the Palestinian governorates affecting movement and access to its offices, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) announces extending the nomination period for an additional 24 hours. Therefore, the deadline for submitting applications is 2:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2026, following the same mechanism, by showing up in person either to the CEC offices, or by sending nomination applications via the announced WhatsApp numbers (attached) in all governorates of the West Bank and Dier al-Balah.
The CEC has announced earlier today, Saturday, the adoption of an exceptional mechanism allowing the submission of nomination applications using WhatsApp numbers dedicated to each electoral district, contingent on completing the required attachment at a later stage. This aims to avoid obstructing the right of citizens to nomination and continued electoral process.
