Al-Bireh – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced that the process of updating the Voters’ Registry is ongoing across all districts of the West Bank, which is witnessing a high turnover. The CEC further pointed out that since receiving the Cabinet’s decision; announcing the date for conducting the 2026 Local Elections, 49,589 new citizens have been registered online in the Voters’ Registry through the CEC’s website and in the field, meanwhile, approximately 275 thousand citizens inquired about their registration centers.

Tubas – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) mentioned that Israeli settlers have obstructed, today in the morning, the work of its mobile staff blocking their access to the registration center of Khirbet Yarza – 7km East of Tubas. Such has hindered the provision of registration and data-update services to the citizens of this community.

Al-Bireh – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today, Tuesday, opening the field centers for voter registration in the premises of all local authorities and the CEC’s District Electoral Offices in the West Bank.

In light of the Cabinet Decision issued on December 2, 2025, which set Saturday, April 25, 2026 as the date for conducting elections of local authority councils in all districts of the West bank and the Gaza, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) finds conducting local elections accross the entire Gaza Strip to be difficult and extremely challenging. However, following the consideration of the current conditions in the Gaza Strip, out of consideration for strengthening the geographical and political unity of both sides of the homeland, as well as safeguarding citizens’ right to participate in the democratic process whenever and wherever possible. The CEC has decided to conduct local elections in the city of Deir Al-Balah. These elections will be held concurrently with the elections in 420 local authorities in the West Bank.
