Al-Bireh – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced that the process of updating the Voters’ Registry is ongoing across all districts of the West Bank, which is witnessing a high turnover. The CEC further pointed out that since receiving the Cabinet’s decision; announcing the date for conducting the 2026 Local Elections, 49,589 new citizens have been registered online in the Voters’ Registry through the CEC’s website and in the field, meanwhile, approximately 275 thousand citizens inquired about their registration centers.
Moreover, the CEC noted that since the first day of the field registration process, launched yesterday, Tuesday, 15,352 new citizens have been registered in the Voters’ Registry, whereas 2,196 citizens transferred their polling center and 51,293 citizens inquired about their polling centers via CEC’s official website.
In its press release, issued Wednesday morning, the CEC clarified that the online and field registration processes are still ongoing. The CEC calls upon unregistered citizens and those interested in editing or transferring their data, to rush to the CEC’ official website or the registration centers spread across all local authorities in the West Bank and the District Electoral Offices (DEOs) to do so. Registration shall remain open until 2 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
