The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced launching the awareness campaign concerning the local elections, which includes raising awareness on both stages of electoral campaigning, along with its regulations and procedures, and the procedures to be followed on polling day and voting mechanisms. This is part of the CEC’s preparations to conduct local elections on April 25, 2026 in 183 local authorities across the West Bank, and the municipality of Deir al-Balah.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) shared today, Tuesday, that the final number of voters in the local authorities scheduled for Local Elections on April 25, 2026, have reached one million and forty thousand voters (males and females), constituting 67% of the total number of citizens registered in the voters’ registry.

The Central Elections Commission held two separate meetings, the first with a group of local writers and analysts, and the second with a group of TV and Radio presenters and editors of a group of websites. These meetings aimed at discussing means of cooperation in both electoral awareness and media coverage of the electoral process.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) in Dier al-Balah began today, Tuesday, implementing a series of specialized and tailored training programs targeting the candidates of electoral lists competing for the local elections in the municipality of Dier al-Balah, a total of 64 candidates representing four electoral lists. The training aims to enable them to exercise their democratic right, enhance their knowledge on their rights and duties, in a manner that guarantees the progress of the electoral process in accordance with the legal frameworks in place.
