Al-Bireh – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced closing the accreditation of observer bodies and their representatives for the 2026 Local Elections, as well as media organizations who will cover the elections scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026 in 183 local authorities.
The CEC indicated that the number of accredited local observer bodies reached 69, with 2533 observers (F/M) representing them, in addition to 125 guest and international observers.
Concerning media organizations, the CEC clarified accrediting 113 media organizations, 14 of which are international, with 740 journalists (F/M) either representing those organizations or working as freelancers.
Furthermore, the CEC pointed out publishing all information and figures of interest to journalists and observers on its website, including the names and locations of the local authorities involved in polling.
The CEC emphasized its organized and continued work and efforts to finalize all necessary arrangements for the local elections, indicating the readiness to open 491 polling center on Saturday morning, 12 of which are in Deir al-Balah.
Regarding the local elections scheduled for next Saturday, and according to the CEC, the number of eligible voters in the local authorities involved in polling exceeds a million (F/M), according to the final voters’ registry.
