The CEC publishes the preliminary register of nominated electoral lists

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) published today the preliminary register of nominated electoral lists and their candidates for the 2018 re-run local elections at its district offices, local council premises and website www.elections.ps.

This procedure enables citizens and lists’ representatives to review, verify the correctness of nomination information and submit any objections within the legal objection period. 

Objections to the nomination of an electoral list or candidate may be submitted within three days as of August 27th to CEC’s office in the district to which the locality is affiliated along with the supporting documents. The CEC will review objections and issue its decisions which may be appealed before the elections cases court. The court decisions will be final. 

The final register of electoral lists and candidates will be published on 8 September 2018 coinciding with the beginning of elections campaigning.
