The Central Elections Commission (CEC) will conduct five trainings in the West Bank and Gaza Strip throughout the upcoming week, for 200 local observers accredited for the 2021 Palestinian elections. 

The Elections Court in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip rejected all 18 appeals submitted against the Central Elections Commission’s (CEC) decisions to accept the nominations of electoral lists and candidates running for the upcoming 2021 legislative elections.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chairman, Hanna Nasir, received today the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Special Representative to Palestine, Yvonne Helle, at the CEC headquarters in Al-Bireh to brief the representative on the recent electoral proceedings and preparations underway for the upcoming 2021 Palestinian elections. The Chairman also informed the representative of the conclusion of the nomination period for the Legislative Council elections, and the commencement of the election campaigning stage set to take place next month.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) held a meeting to issue its decision on 231 objections submitted against electoral lists and candidates nominated for Legislative Council membership.
