A CEC delegation concludes visit to Gaza

A delegation from the CEC Headquarters in the West Bank (WB) headed by Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir, CEO Mr. Hisham Kuhail and Deputy CEO Mr. Ashraf Shuaibi concluded a two-day visit to Gaza yesterday.

The members of the delegation along with CEC Commissioners in Gaza: Judge Isac Muhanna, Judge Mazin Sisalem, Dr. Yousuf Awadallah and Mr. Yasir Mousa visited registration centers in the Gaza Strip (GS) to oversee the ongoing registration process launched early this week in both the WB and GS.

In another context, the delegation conducted separate meetings with representatives of political parties in Gaza, namely; the Deputy Head of the Political Office of Hamas Mr. Ismail Haniyeh, members of Fatah Central Committee; Dr. Zakariya al-Agha and Mrs. Amal Hamad, leaders of the Jihad Islamic Movement; Mr. Khalid al-Batsh and Dr. Omar Shileh and members of the political office of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine; Dr. Rabah Muhanna and Mr. Jamil Mizher.

The aim of the meetings as stated by Dr. Nasir was to ‘’ update political parties representatives on the progress of the registration process and CEC’s current projects and activities geared towards maintaining readiness for any electoral process once called’’.

The delegation also visited a school for the Disabled as part of a CEC’s project to empower Persons with Disabilities.
