The CEC announces the commencement of voter registry update for 2015

The CEC announced today the commencement of voter registry update in both the West Bank (WB) and Gaza Strip (GS) until next Thursday.

CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir and CEO, Hisham Kuhail and Deputy of CEO, Ashraf Shuaibi headed and for Gaza today to oversee the registration process. Dr. Nasir indicated that the registration process aims at registering high school students who turned 17 years and above and whose number is estimated at 65 thousand in 856 public and private schools in both the WB and GS.

Dr. Nasir also explained that registration will be conducted by 600 trained teachers from the Ministry of Education who will register students during class periods using special registration forms which will later one be processed by registration and data entry staff.

It should be indicated that registry update is an annual process the CEC conducts to ensure the voter registry is up-to-date and ready for any elections once called.

Unregistered voters or those who wish to update their registration information can do that throughout the year through CEC’s district offices in the WB and GS.
