The CEC and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance Sign a Cooperation Agreement
On the sidelines of the General Assembly meeting of the Arab Organization for Electoral Administrations (Arab EMBs) and the launch of the Arab Network for Women in Elections, a cooperation agreement was signed yesterday between the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) at its headquarters in Tunis.
The memorandum aims to establish a mutual cooperation between the two parties, to support the continuous development of the CEC as a credible electoral administration, and to implement joint activities to support the Commission in developing its institutional capacities, and in the implementation of its plans for the upcoming elections.
The agreement includes activities related to exchange of experiences, organization of specialized training courses to build the capacities of CEC staff in the areas of electoral risk management and organizational development. The memorandum also provides for holding workshops on the electoral process throughout the State of Palestine, as agreed by both parties, and the provision of relevant publications issued by International IDEA.
