CEC Chairman meets with the EU Commissioner for External Relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner

Yesterday, Dr. Hanna Nasir, the CEC Chairman, and Dr. Rami Hamdallah, the Secretary-General, met with Benita Ferrero-Waldner, the EU Commissioner for External Relations.

The CEC briefed Mrs. Ferrero-Waldner on the issue of election arrangements in Jerusalem. Dr. Nasir confirmed that the CEC is ready to conduct elections on the assigned date, 25 January, 2006. The CEC has commenced its technical and logistical preparations for the upcoming elections, allocated polling centers to the electoral districts and prepared all the necessary electoral materials for polling day.
