The President assures the CEC that elections will take place on time

In a meeting with the CEC today, President Mahmoud Abbas, reaffirmed that the Legislative Council Elections will take place on the 25th of January 2005 as stipulated in the Presidential Decree issued on the 20th of August 2005. The President also reiterated that the elections must be conducted according to the elections law.


The meeting was attended by the CEC Chairman, Commissioners and Chief Electoral Officer, who assured the President that the Commission is ready to conduct the elections on the scheduled date.
