Cabinet Resolution No. (02/46/13/C.M/S.F) of 2010

Scheduled Date for Conducting Local Council Elections

 

Based on the powers vested in us by law, the endorsement of the Minister of Local Government, and for the sake of public interest,

After reviewing the following:

The Local Councils’ Elections Law No. (10) of 2005, and its further amendments;  

Local Authorities Law No. (1) of 1997, and its further amendments;

Decree by Law No. (1) of 2007, concerning General Elections;

Cabinet Resolution No. (01/36/13/C.M/S.F) of 2010; concerning the Local Councils’ Elections,

The Letter submitted by the Chairman of the Central Elections Commission on April 14, 2010, concerning local elections,

 

The Cabinet, in its session held on April 25, 2010 in the city of Ramallah, hereby decided the following:

Article (1)

  1. To continue with the necessary measures for conducting local councils elections in the West Bank governorates as scheduled on July 17, 2010.
  2. To postpone local councils’ elections in the Gaza Strip until the Central Elections Commission is able to complete its administrative and technical preparations and meet the requirements for conducting elections in accordance with the law.
  3. Authorizing the Central Elections Commission to continue working and undertaking all necessary measures for meeting all the requirements for conducting these elections in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the law.

Article (2)

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this resolution. The resolution shall enter into force upon its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
