Cabinet Resolution No. (01/19/14/C.M/S.F) of 2012

Complementary Elections of Local Councils

 

Based on the powers vested in us by law, the endorsement of the Minister of Local Government, and for the sake of public interest,

After reviewing the following:

The Amended Basic Law of 2003, and its further amendments;

The Local Councils’ Elections Law No. (10) of 2005, and its further amendments;  

Local Authorities Law No. (1) of 1997, and its further amendments;

Decree by Law No. (1) of 2007, concerning General Elections;

Cabinet Resolution No. (01/08/14/C.M/S.F) of 2012;

Cabinet Resolution No. (06/10/14/C.M/S.F) of 2012;

 

The Cabinet, in its session held on September 25, 2012 in the city of Ramallah, hereby decided the following:

Article (1)

First: To dedicate Saturday November 24, 2012 for conducting the complementary elections of local councils.

Second: Authorizing the Central Elections Commission to undertake all necessary arrangements for conducting the complementary elections of local councils on the date stipulated earlier in this article.

Fourth: Authorizing the Minister of Local Government to monitor the conduction of complementary elections of local councils in cooperation with the Central Elections Commission on behalf of the Council of Ministers.

Article (2)

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this resolution. The resolution shall enter into force upon its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Issued in the city of Ramallah on September 25, 2012.
