Decree No. () of 2014

Concerning the appointment of a Secretary General for the Central Elections Commission

 

President of the State of Palestine

Chairman of the PLO’s Executive Committee,

After reviewing the Amended Basic Law of 2003 and its further amendments, the Decree by Law No. (1) of 2007, concerning General Elections,

Presidential Decree issued on December 22, 2011, concerning the reconstitution of the Central Elections Commission,

Based on the powers vested in us, and for the sake of public interest,

 

We hereby issue the following:

 

Article (1)

The appointment of Dr. Sameeh Ishbeib as the Central Elections Commission’s Secretary General, succeeding Dr. Rami Hamdallah.

Article (2)

All that contradicts with the provisions of this Decree shall be nullified.

Article (3)

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this Decree, which shall enter into force upon its issuance, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

 

Issued in the city of Ramallah on January 21, 2014.
