Decree No. () of 2015

Concerning the appointment of a member and Secretary General for the Central Elections Commission

 

President of the State of Palestine

Chairman of the PLO’s Executive Committee,

After reviewing the Amended Basic Law of 2003 and its further amendments, the Decree by Law No. (1) of 2007, concerning General Elections,

Presidential Decree No. (14) of 2011, concerning the Reconstitution of the Central Elections Commission, Presidential Decree No. (1) of 2014, concerning the appointment a Secretary General of the Central Elections Commission, Presidential Decree No. (12), concerning the replacement of a member of the Central Elections Commission,

And after reviewing the resignation letter submitted by Mr. Sameeh Ishbeib, the Central Election Commission’s Secretary General on October 8, 2015

Based on the powers vested in us, and for the sake of public interest,

 

We hereby issue the following:

Article (1)

The appointment of Dr. Khawla Shakhshir as a member of the Central Elections Commission.

Article (2)

The appointment of Mrs. Lamis Al-Alami as the Central Elections Commission’s Secretary General succeeding Dr. Sameeh Ishbeib.

Article (3)

All that contradicts with the provisions of this Decree shall be nullified.

Article (4)

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this Decree, which shall enter into force upon its issuance, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

 

Issued in the city of Ramallah on October 22, 2015.
