Cabinet Resolution No. (3/06/18/C.M/M.I) of 2019
Conducting elections in a group of local councils
Based on the powers vested in us by law and the endorsement of the Minister of Local Government, and for the sake of public interest and after reviewing the following:
The Amended Basic Law of 2003, and its further amendments;
Local Council’s Elections Law No. (10) of 2005, and its further amendments;
Local Authorities Law No. (1) of 1997, and its further amendments;
Decree by Law No. (1) of 2007 on General Elections and its further amendments;
Cabinet Resolution No. (3) of 2011, concerning Local Councils Elections System,
Cabinet Resolution No. (01/04/18/C.M/M.I) of 2019,
The Cabinet, in its session held on May 20, 2019 in Ramallah decided the following:
Article (1)
Conducting local councils elections in (Jayyus/Qalqiliya, Beit Ar-Rush At-Tahta/Hebron, and Beit Surik/Jerusalem) on Saturday July, 13, 2019.
Article (2)
- Authorizing the Central Elections Commission to commence all necessary technical arrangements and preparations to organize the elections of the local authorities on the assigned date stipulated in the previous article.
- Authorizing the Minister of Local Government to follow up the organization and conduction of the abovementioned Local Councils’ Elections in coordination with the Central Elections Commission.
Article (3)
All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this resolution. The resolution shall enter into force upon its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
