Decree No. () of 2021
Concerning the number of Council Members in Local Authorities with a percentage of Christian Citizens
President of the State of Palestine
Chairman of the PLO’s Executive Committee,
In reference to the PLO’s Basic Law, and the Amended Basic Law of 2003 and its further amendments,
After reviewing the Local Councils’ Elections Law No. (10) of 2005, and its further amendments, and based on the powers vested in us, and for the sake of public interest,
We hereby issue the following:
Article (1)
The number of council members for the below mentioned local authorities during the local councils elections shall be as follows:

Article (2)
The mayor in each of the local authorities mentioned above shall be Christian, except for Birqin Municipality.
Article (3)
All that contradicts with the provisions of this decree shall be nullified.
Article (4)
All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this decree, which shall enter into force upon its issuance, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
