The CEC announces: Voter Registry Update will commence next month

The CEC announces that the annual voter registry update for 2015 will be conducted from 1-5 March 2015, in both the West Bank (WB) and Gaza Strip (GS).

The CEC has approved in its periodic meeting held at the CEC premises in Al-bireh and through video conference with Gaza, that the coming registration will target secondary school students who reached the eligible registration age of 17 years and above through mobile registration teams in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

In another context, the CEC met with representatives of political parties to update them of CEC’s registration plans and ongoing activities.

It should be indicated that the voter registry update is an annual activity that aims at registering eligible registrants and update the voter registry through cancellation of deaths in order to maintain readiness for any electoral event once called. The last registry update process took place last March.
