The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced commencing the implementation of the second phase of the "Partnership with CSOs" project 2024-2025, funded by the European Union (EU).

The CEC indicated in its press release with this regard that 13 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) were selected for this phase of the project against predetermined and announced criteria, who will implement diverse activities throughout the governorates of the West Bank, including Jerusalem in the few upcoming months.

Moreover, the CEC pointed out that the activities focus on local elections and vary from training and workshops, and conducting field awareness campaigns, which mainly target the marginalized groups and areas as well as communities with low registration rates. Additionally, it focuses on training and capacity building in terms of use of technology, particularly AI and social media tools for electoral awareness and campaigning.

In this context, the CEC expressed its thanks and appreciation to the EU for its continued support of the CEC's projects and activities, in addition to emphasizing the significance of partnership with CSOs, which is translated into a diversity of projects that enhance electoral awareness and political participation in Palestine.

It is worth mentioning that the first phase of the project funded by the EU was concluded during the beginning of this current year, where in collaboration with 15 CSOs it implemented and attended the implementation of tens of activities in the form of workshops, trainings, performances and youth council elections. The total number of beneficiaries reach approximately 7 thousand citizens (both females and males) all of whom are from the youth group.
