End of Voter Registration, Exhibition and Challenge for the 2021 Local Elections

The CEC announced the end of the Registration, Exhibition, and Challenge phase, today; Thursday afternoon. Which launched last Sunday 3-10-2021.

Registration, Exhibition and challenge centers all over the West Bank have closed their doors at 3:00 pm, which coincides with the shutdown of the online registration program through the CEC’s website as well, according to the previously announced legal calendar and timeframes. 

Within the following days, the CEC will process the registered data; by removing the deceased, and duplicate registrations, in preparation for the issuance of the final Voter’s Registry which will include all registrants who will be 18 years of age or older on Polling day. Accordingly, the Nomination and Polling phases will take place for the 2021 Local Elections. 

On the other hand, the CEC received a number of complaints; requesting corrections to personal data errors, as well as (20) objections to challenge the registration of others during the five days intended for doing so. The CEC will announce later on; the specific statistics and numbers for the Registration Exhibition and Challenge phase, and the revisions made to the Voter’s Registry.

It should be indicated that, the upcoming phase for the Local Elections will be: the commencement of the Nomination phase on 26/10/2021, which will last for 10 days, ending on Thursday evening 4/11/2021.
