The CEC announces: Nomination for the upcoming Local Council Elections is now closed

The CEC announces the end of nomination period for the upcoming Local Council Elections which commenced on August 16th until midnight of Thursday, August 25th.

More Than 860 nomination applications for electoral lists and their candidates were received from all district offices across the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Data entry, management of candidates data and review of received applications have now commenced in preparations for evaluation by the CEC in accordance with the law.

The CEC will publish the preliminary list of electoral lists and candidates on Monday, August 29th, at the premises of the local authorities, CEC district offices and webpage: www.elections.ps to enable all citizens to review them and submit objections to the nomination of lists and their candidates according to the published elections timeline.

The CEC will review received objections, if any, and adjudicate them within three days to allow citizens to object CEC’s decisions on this regard before the competent court.
