Content Manager

The CEC met with key representatives of the Palestinian political factions, in Ramallah today.

CEO, Hisham Kuhail, briefed the faction representatives on the details of the voter registration process for the upcoming 2021 Palestinian elections, (legislative and presidential), set to kick off on February 10th until February 16th.

Kuhail explained that the CEC’s plan for voter registration includes dispatching hundreds of mobile field-teams to all districts, equipped with “tablet” devices to conduct e-registration. In addition, the CEC will open 80 information, awareness and registration centers in some of the locations, taking into consideration the health protocols in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the representatives of political factions will coordinate with the CEC electoral district offices in order to acquire the plans and timetables tracking the movement of the field teams. This coordination will enable the factions to encourage those interested in registering to do so while the teams are in certain areas, in addition to providing them with detailed registration statistics.
