The CEC participates in the Election ICT program

The CEC participated in the ICT capacity building program held in Incheon, South Korea, from October 25 to November 3, 2017.

The workshop tackled issues related to the utilization of information technology in elections and existing challenges. Mr. Basem Saleem, the Head of CEC’s Information systems section and Mr. Akram Afaneh from the IT projects department, participated in the program and presented the Palestinian experience, particularly with regards to the applied IT systems during the latest local elections such as E-registration and relevant applications.

In addition to the State of Palestine, representatives from various countries such as Iraq, South Africa, Mongolia, Thailand, Brazil, New Guinea and Kosovo participated in the workshop.

It should be indicated that the CEC has been recently elected to the membership of the executive office of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) which includes elections committees from 102 countries and is located in South Korea.
