CEC meets with Mr. President Abbas

CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir and Secretary General Dr. Ramai Hamdullah met last Friday with Mr. President Mahmoud Abbas in his office in Ramallah where they handed over a copy of the voter’s registry and a summary of statistics related to the recent update process. The CEC informed him that it’s technically ready for any elections once called.

On his turn, Mr. Abbas thanked the CEC for the efforts exerted in achieving this mission despite the difficulties encountered; referring to the electronic transfer of registration data from Gaza to Ramallah after the Israeli authorities prevented the transfer of registration books through crossings. Mr. Abbas also spoke on elections indicating that the issue is under study within the given circumstances.
