CEC Participates in the closing ceremony of the elections summer camp organized by Johood Foundation

The CEC, represented by its CEO, Mr. Hisham Kuhail, participated in the closing ceremony of the Mock elections summer camp organized by Johood Foundation for Community and Rural development conducted in Ramallah over a period of ten days and with participation of forty youth participants from eight West Bank districts.

This camp comes as the second and last phase of a project aiming at building a youth cadre to enhance democratic principles and elections education in the Palestinian Civil society.

The activities of the project included the conduct of a simulation (mock elections) to the electoral process. The role of the CEC was to review all training materials and elections procedures guidebooks used in the training as well as providing the camp with the needed electoral materials for and finally, the actual supervision of the progress of the process.

The Commission's CEO expressed his content with such projects targeting the Palestinian youth which contribute to raising the level of elections awareness in the Palestinian society, stressing, at the same time, on the fact that youth participation in such projects encourages them to participate in any educational programs the CEC will implement in the future.

At the end of the ceremony, participants and trainers were granted certificates of participation. Also,   Johood submitted an honorary shield to the CEC representatives in appreciation of their distinguished role which contributed to the success of the project.
