The CEC Honors its Chief Electoral Officer Advocate Ammar Dwaik

Today, the CEC held a ceremony honoring its Chief Electoral officer (CEO), Advocate Ammar Dawaik, who will soon leave the country to obtain his PhD from the USA.

At the beginning of the ceremony, The CEC Chairman, Dr. Hanna Nassir, welcomed the audience and thanked Mr. Dwaik for his distinguished efforts while holding his post as the CEO and called for all CEC staff to maintain the same level of professionality.

On his part, Mr. Dwaik thanked the CEC Chairman and employees and expressed his happiness during the time he worked at the CEC. Mr. Dwaik said the CEC is considered a significant national accomplishment and should be developed.


The CEC staff expressed their happiness during the time they worked with Mr. Dwaik through the speech delivered by the administrative assistant, Mrs. Shaza Qawasmi.

At the end of the ceremony, the CEC Chairman granted Mr. Dwaik a shield and a certificate in appreciation of his efforts in managing the CEC executive apparatus.

Since he assumed his responsibilities as the CEO in October, 2004, Mr. Dwaik administered two electoral processes, the Presidential elections in 2005 and the legislative elections in 2006.

It is expected to appoint a new CEO in the coming week.
