Voter Turnout was over 80% at the end of the second day of the early voting for security officers

At the close of polling at 7 pm on the second day of the early voting for security officers, the Central Elections Commission declared voter turnout to be 81.2% of the total number of security personnel eligible to participate in the early voting. 18,510 security officers voted in the West Bank whereas the total number of voters in the districts of the Gaza Strip was 29,149 making a total of 47,659 voters out of a total number of 58,705.

The largest number of voters was in the electoral district of Gaza where a total of 8,988 security officers voted. Voter turnout in the Gaza Strip was 80.8% whereas the percentage of voters in the districts of the West Bank was 81.9% of the total number of eligible security officers.

The Central elections Commission had announced the start of the early voting for security officers on 21st January. The last day for early voting for security personnel is tomorrow, Monday 23 January, 2006.
