Over 29,000 voters in Day One of the early voting for security officers

On the first day of the early voting for security officers, the Central Elections Commission declared that voter turnout was 49.6% of the total number of security personnel eligible to participate in the early voting. 11,235 security officers voted in the West Bank whereas the total number of voters in the districts of the Gaza Strip was 17, 918 making a total of 29,153 voters.

The largest number of voters was in the electoral district of Gaza where the total number of voters was 4,932. Voter turnout in Gaza was 49.65% whereas the percentage of voters in the districts of the West Bank was 49.68% of the total number of eligible voters among security personnel for early voting.

The Central Elections Commission had announced the early voting for security officers this morning for a period of three days between 21 - 23 January, 2006.
