Today, the CEC declared the end of the registration drive for the upcoming elections scheduled for January 25, 2006. The registration drive commenced on December 16 and ended on December 20, 2005.
The CEC is verifying the data in the list of voters in order to prepare the final list of voters which the CEC will publish in the 16 electoral districts as per the law.
According to Article (42) of the Elections Law No. 9 of 2005, the CEC undertakes to prepare the general list of voters based on the final list of voters submitted by the electoral districts offices. Every person is entitled to view this list.
