The CEC announced that all CEC offices will be operational until midnight on December 14, 2005, which is the final day for the submission of applications for nomination for the forthcoming elections.
The period of candidate nomination commenced on Saturday, December 3, 2005. 223 applications for nomination for the electoral districts were submitted. The following three electoral lists were also nominated: Independent Palestine, the alternate, and Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa.
The preliminary list of candidates for the districts and the lists will be published on December 18, 2005. The final list will be published on January 2, 2006.
