Dr. Rami Hamdallah, Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Palestine, David Muscat, at CEC HQ in Al-Bireh.
Dr. Hamdallah welcomed Ambassador Muscat and expressed his appreciation of the European support of the CEC plans and programs, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the sustainable partnership between the CEC and the European Union (EU) and all its member states.
Moreover, Dr. Hamdallah informed the Ambassador of Malta of the ongoing work for conducting the Legislative Elections on November 28, across the entire territory of the State of Palestine, meanwhile pointing out the set of logistical, security and financial challenges obstructing the electoral process, calling upon the international community, especially the EU, to contribute to supporting the electoral process.
