The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today, Thursday, approval of the final results of the local elections conducted on April 25, 2026, which were published on its website after the conclusion of appeals before the Election Cases Court.
During the appeals period, 60 appeals were submitted to the specialized Court challenging the preliminary results announced by the CEC on 26 of last April, including appeals against acclamation results. The Court decided to reject 56 appeals and accept 4. Such, the results become final and non-appealable.
Therefore, the CEC handed the final results officially over to the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), including certificates of winning for all electoral lists and candidates from the 183 local authorities involved in polling. Moreover, the CEC had previously handed over to MoLG certificates of winning for the 197 local authorities whose councils are formed by acclamation.
