The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced the conclusion of the polling process for the 2026 Local Elections in the West Bank, where polling centers closed its doors at 7:00 pm exactly, while allowing electors present inside polling centers at the time of closing to cast their ballots past the deadline.
In a press release, the CEC confirmed that polling was conducted quietly and in an organized manner, without any major violations registered, clarifying that the number of electors reached 512,510 eligible voters (F/M), representing a turnout rate of 53.44% in the West Bank.
Moreover, the CEC clarified that its teams commenced the counting and tabulation process inside polling stations, attended by agents of electoral lists and candidates, as well as observers and journalists, where, by the end of the process, the number of votes acquired by nominated electoral lists is exhibited at the station’s door. Results will be compiled, counting protocols verified, and results approved centrally at the CEC HQ in Al-Bireh , in preparation for announcing the preliminary results during the press conference planned for tomorrow afternoon at Media Center in Al-Bireh.
