Dr. Rami Hamdallah, Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced the commencement of polling for the 2026 Local Elections, in the West Bank in addition to the city of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip.
Following casting his ballot in ‘Anabta – Tulkarem District, in his statement to the press, Dr. Hamdallah invited citizens to visit their polling centers to cast their ballots and select their representatives freely and responsibly. Additionally, he stressed the importance of broad participation in the elections, which reflects citizens’ awareness and adherence to democratic practices despite the circumstances and challenges, while emphasizing the necessity to guarantee the success of this national day.
It is worth mentioning that polling takes place in 183 local authorities; where polling centers opened its doors at 7:00 am, and will remain open until 7:00 pm in the West Bank, whereas polling will be concluded at 5:00 pm in Deir al-Balah.
