The Central Elections Commission held two separate meetings, the first with a group of local writers and analysts, and the second with a group of TV and Radio presenters and editors of a group of websites. These meetings aimed at discussing means of cooperation in both electoral awareness and media coverage of the electoral process.
During both meetings, the CEC provided a presentation on the key accomplishments and advancement in the various stages of the electoral process, in addition to its efforts in electoral awareness and education, as well as the polling mechanism according to the New Law.
Moreover, the CEC informed writers and analysts on figures and statistics related to the voters’ registry, number of local authorities scheduled to undergo polling, and the number of candidates nominated for the councils of local authorities, both villages and municipal.
Participants discussed mechanisms of cooperation to enhance electoral awareness among citizens, in a manner that contributes to increased participation and expanding knowledge around the procedures regulating the electoral process.
In a separate meeting with journalists, the CEC presented, in addition to the figures and statistics, its media plan for polling day, as well as the procedures imposed to guarantee the flow of information and facilitate media coverage, guaranteeing the coverage of the electoral process accurately and professionally.
The CEC emphasized the importance of partnership with writers, analysts and the media in supporting the awareness efforts, enhancing integrity and transparency of the electoral process, in a way that consolidates citizens’ trust and confidence, encouraging active participation.
