The Central Elections Commission (CEC) in Dier al-Balah began today, Tuesday, implementing a series of specialized and tailored training programs targeting the candidates of electoral lists competing for the local elections in the municipality of Dier al-Balah, a total of 64 candidates representing four electoral lists. The training aims to enable them to exercise their democratic right, enhance their knowledge on their rights and duties, in a manner that guarantees the progress of the electoral process in accordance with the legal frameworks in place.
The CEC clarified that these programs are part of an awareness campaign implemented addressing all voters in Dier al-Balah, which include comprehensive training sessions focusing on explaining the elections law and the regulatory executive provisions, in addition to tackling the field measures and procedures starting the nomination stage and concluding with polling. Furthermore, they introduce the regulations of electoral campaigning, including sources of financing, mechanisms and means of expenditure, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
Local elections are scheduled for upcoming April 25, to be concurrently conducted with conducting it in 420 local authorities in the West Bank, until the time comes when conditions allow its conduction in the remainder of the Gaza Strip.
