Al-Bireh – The Central Elections Commission (CEC) began today, Thursday, the training of the teams supervising both stages of registration, and exhibition and challenges in the Middle and Southern Districts of the West Bank, conducting two centralized workshops, one in Ramallah and the other in Hebron. Two additional and similar workshops will be conducted for the supervisors of the Northern Districts of the West Bank in the City of Nablus.
These four workshops target 120 supervisors (both females and males), receiving a comprehensive training on the procedures devised for the registration stage, scheduled for January 20-24, 2026, and the exhibition and challenges stage, scheduled for February 7-9, 2026, including the mechanisms for registering at the CEC offices and registration centers, in accordance with the law and approved guidelines.
Following the conclusion of these workshops, trained supervisors will be responsible for training 1050 person from the registration teams operating at the premises of local authorities. The training courses will not be centralized, rather conducted in each district of the West Bank. The teams were selected in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) in addition to CEC affiliated teams, to work in 423 registration centers established at the various local authorities participating in the elections.
The CEC continues, through its teams, preparations for the local elections scheduled for April 25, 2026, to be conducted in 420 local authorities in the West Bank. CEC’s records indicate approximately one million and four hundred thousand (1.4 million) voters registerd for local elections in the West Bank. It is worth mentioning that registration shall remain open until the 24th of current month of January.
