The Central Elections Commission (CEC) officially received today; Thursday, the Cabinet's decision announcing April 25, 2026 as the date for casting ballots for the local elections in all governorates in accordance with the Decree-Law No. (23) of 2025, concerning Local Authority Elections.
In return, the CEC confirmed the readiness of its teams for conducting the electoral process, according to the standards, criteria and procedures in place, and in line with the Elections Law. It is worth noting that the CEC has already started identifying the legal periods for each of the stage of the electoral process as per the law, to be announced to the public in the few coming days.
