The CEC and UNDP Sign a New MoU

Thursday, November 14, 2024

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will be implemented over the course of the next two years. It is founded on supporting the CEC’s efforts in the areas of promoting civil participation and electoral integrity, as well as building the capacities of its teams and advancing its technical and technological capabilities.

Dr. Rami Hamdallah, CEC’s Chairman, and Ms. Sarah Poole, Special Representative of the Administrator, representing UNDP, signed the MoU at the CEC’s HQ in Al-Bireh, in the presence of the CEC’s CEO, Ashraf Al-Shuaibi.

The MoU aims to enhance the technical capacities of the CEC’s teams, support the CEC’s awareness programs, rehabilitate the CEC district offices and enhance its participation in regional and international electoral events.

This MoU is a continuation of the long-standing cooperation between the CEC and UNDP in similar projects and MoUs over the past years.
