The CEC Participates in Monitoring the Presidential Elections in Tunisia

Sunday, October 6, 2024

The Central Elections Commission’s (CEC) delegation participated in monitoring the Presidential Elections in Tunisia, which were carried out today, as per an official invitation from the Independent Higher Elections Commission of Tunisia (L’Instance Supérieure Indépendante pour les Élections).

The delegation comprised of two Commissioners; Dr. Khawla Shakhshir and Dr. Yousif Awadallah, in addition to the Head of the Control and Audit Unit, Mr. Mohammad Hussien, participated in monitoring the preparations and arrangements for the electoral process, during the voting and counting as well as results-publishing stages.

This contribution is one milestone in the long-standing cooperation between the CEC and its Tunisian counterpart, as both are permanent members of the Arab Organization for Electoral Management Bodies (ArabEMBs).

It is worth noting that the CEC is always keen on accepting the invitations it receives to monitor electoral processes all around the world, with the aim of learning from the experiences of other EMBs.
