The CEC announced that, yesterday midnight, marked the end of the Nomination period for the (Second Phase) of the Local Elections. Which commenced on the 8th of February in all districts of the West Bank.
The CEC confirmed in a press statement that it received 267 nomination applications in all West Bank districts. In addition to its staff currently working on reviewing candidacy applications and on data entering, managing and checking the accuracy of the candidates’ information in preparation for it to be presented to the CEC, and for it to be decided on according to the law.
The CEC will publish the preliminary list of candidates next Sunday, in its West Bank district offices, in Local councils, and through its website: (www.elections.ps) for the purpose of showcasing the candidates’ data to all citizens. Which will accordingly allow them to submit objections on the names of candidates and electoral lists within the previously declared Electoral calendar and timeframes.
It should be indicated that polling for the Second phase of the Local Elections will be on Saturday 26-03-2022.
