The CEC held today; Thursday at its headquarters in Al Bireh, its periodic meeting with the Elections Reform and Support Group (E-RSG).
CEC chairman, Dr. Hanna Nasir, welcomed the attendees and informed them of the latest updates regarding the CEC’s progress in carrying out the 2021 Local Elections. Polling for the latter will be on the 11th of December 2021. Dr. Nasir shared statistics and classification details about the participating localities in the 2021 local elections in preparation for the Nomination phase, which will happen on the 26th of October.
During the meeting, the group was informed of a series of outreach projects that target youth, women, persons with disabilities, and university students. These projects are being implemented by the CEC in conjunction with the Electoral Process.
On the other hand, the group commended the CEC’s efforts, and expressed its trust in its work and independence; emphasizing their readiness to support the CEC and its projects that relate to promoting democratic values in Palestine.
