The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced the end of nomination period for the upcoming Legislative Council elections, which ran from March 20th, until midnight on March 31st.
The CEC confirmed that the total number of received nomination applications reached 36 by the end of the nomination stage last night. Until now, the CEC has approved 13 nomination applications and notified the electoral lists of their acceptance. Examination of the remaining nomination applications shall continue in the coming days.
The CEC stated that it will announce the preliminary register on April 6th, including the names of electoral lists and their candidates, enabling citizens to review the applications and submit any objections to the names of electoral lists and candidates before the CEC.
Polling day for the upcoming 2021 Palestinian Legislative Council elections will take place on May 22, 2021.
