CEC Chairman Briefs the Head of EUPOL COPPS in Ramallah

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chairman, Hanna Nasir, briefed the Head of the European Union Police Mission for the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS), Natalia Apostolova, on its preparations to organize the upcoming 2021 Palestinian elections at the CEC headquarters in Al-Bireh today. This meeting reflects the Commission’s effort to inform all relevant international bodies of the ongoing electoral process despite all impending challenges. 

Chairman Nasir emphasized the essential work of the Palestinian police, who are charged exclusively with protecting polling stations throughout the electoral process and ensuring that the elections are conducted in a free and fair manner in accordance with the Presidential Decree issued on February 20, 2021. 

With the first stage of the electoral process (voter registration) wrapping up last week, the CEC prepares to launch the next stage – exhibition and challenge – in the following days.
