The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today the commencement of voting in the 2018 re-run local elections in five localities in the West Bank. Polling centers opened at 7:00 am today and will remain open until 7:00pm.
The total number of eligible voters reached 11,523 registered in 8 polling centers. 113 candidates in 13 electoral lists will compete over 53 local council seats in 5 localities in the West Bank.
On this occasion, the CEC calls upon registered voters to participate in elections and candidate lists and electoral stakeholders to adhere to the regulations which ensure the smooth progression of elections according to law.
The counting process will commence as soon as polling ends at polling stations. The official results will be announced on Sunday, 23/9/2018.
It should be indicated that in addition to the 5 localities in which elections took place this morning, another 6 localities had one list nominated in each and in 7 localities no lists were nominated.
